Eastman Used CU Resources to Coordinate Insurrection

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate and CU Regent Ganahl Remains Silent

Denver, CO – In an astounding revelation today, the Denver Post reported that former CU visiting professor and January 6th insurrection architect, John Eastman, used a professional University of Colorado email address and a CU-funded trip to Philadelphia to advise Pennsylvania electors on rejecting their state’s 2020 election results.

Eastman was "relieved of his duties" by CU, but has not been denounced by CU Regent and top candidate in the GOP gubernatorial primary Heidi Ganahl. Ganahl instead previously said Eastman is “fantastic” and celebrated him for “really riling some folks up.”

Ganahl has not disavowed Eastman or criticized his involvement in the January 6th insurrection.

Eastman was the architect of the debunked legal theory that convinced Republican members of Congress to reject the electoral college results of several key states. Eastman also spoke at the “Stop the Steal” rally that occurred before the violent storming of the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump.

“John Eastman used Colorado taxpayer money to plan an insurrection. What more will it take for Heidi Ganahl to tell us where she stands?” - Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Kailee Stiles
